Press Release Body = Most experts agree is smoking addiction is a psychological
addiction than it is a physical addiction. The nicotine and withdrawal symptoms can
be suppressed in your body but your mind may be tempted over and over again to
smoke. Therefore, your mind must be prepared to quit smoking before anything else.
One of the methods that can assist you in smoking is to conduct a self analysis.
First, take a paper and draw two columns in it. For one of the columns, you are
going to list down all the reasons and causes on why you want to pick up smoking. On
the other column, you are going to list down all the reasons and. for quitting
smoking.
When you are writing down all the reasons and causes for you to quit, think of every
possible reasons be it whether it is your environment or your emotions. Be honest to
yourself, if you smoke because of stress of a crisis that you're going through,
write it down. If it is because of peer pressure and to be socially accepted, even
to the means of doing business, write that down also.
On the other column, list down why you want to quit smoking. It may be due to the
fact that somebody you know died of cancer because of smoking, or that you have been
longing to live a more fulfilling life, or the psychological advantage you will gain
after quitting. Be honest also.
On another paper, write down whether is it possible to carry out your task without
smoking. Smoking may give you a great sensation of escape but there are other
alternatives to tackle your stress even without your cigarettes. Write down the
possible alternatives you think that is most suitable for you for example if you're
feeling stress or going through a crisis, you can take a swim or exercise out to
release and stress , take a break and then only get back to think of your solutions.
However, it is quite possible that health reasons will not convince you in quitting
smoking. They all have the possibilities. It is not sure that these things can
happen. Lung cancer might happen or you may die early.
All the health reasons may not be able to convince you to quit smoking. Perhaps you
may think the chances of you getting cancer are very slim or that you may die before
you have the chance of getting cancer.
Think about other non-health or non physical related aspects, and write it down on
both of your column. What psychology benefit will you gain, or how would great would
you feel if you were still smoking and write on the negative column on how smoking
have affected your self-esteem, affected your temper and so on. Think about your
family and also included them in both of your columns. You will be very mentally
prepared after you have finished this small exercise.
Think about your family. They would feel more secure, after your quitting smoking.
Your house would be clean, no dirtier walls, or stinking cars. Several genuine
reasons are there for quitting smoking.
